Founder and President, Mr. Martin Acevedo Marte: “In 1995 I was moved by the sight of a young boy, he was about 9 years old and his name was Johnny, he was playing with one shoe in a rugged and rocky baseball field in the Dominican Republic. I saw his passion for the game of baseball. The young child’s passion helped me understand why Roberto Clemente is my personal and baseball hero. I understood what baseball meant, and why the game was bigger than any man. I realized it was a game that transcended race, gender and culture, and the dream of the Hispanic Baseball Hall of Fame was born.”
We will tell untold stories of thousands of great baseball players in Latino America that never made it into the Majors. The Achievements and glory only lives in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to see, and hear the great achievements of these great athletes. The Latino America’s untold story has a voice that will be heard around the globe.
The Hispanic Baseball Hall of Fame will recognize the contributions made to baseball by Hispanic professional baseball players in the United States of America, Latino America and Internationally.
